SuperTAPP n+ with Remote Communications

The SuperTAPP n+ voltage control relay has been developed further to incorporate cross-network communications. This is useful for voltage control of networks which have transformers operating in parallel between substations, and also for embedded generation applications where the generator output can be measured at the point of connection and used in the upstream voltage control system.

Fundamentals have recently delivered a system including communications (design, build, install and commission) at two Western Power Distribution (WPD) substations to solve an issue associated with embedded generation and network-paralleled transformers.
