Product Manager

The Product Manager will work within the technology department with responsibility for managing the lifecycle of any assigned Fundamentals products. The Product Manager will provide specialist product knowledge and support to the business, using their expertise to forecast challenges and develop solutions.


  • Producing market research, intelligence and competitor analysis and providing market-based input into product pricing
  • Capturing the voice of the customer (VOC) and defining requirements for new product and feature development
  • Producing content for promotional material
  • Producing and maintaining user documentation
  • Working to gain customer approvals
  • Working with the product lifecycle and communicating with customers, including product release, information bulletins and end of life
  • Providing pre-sale technical and application advice to customers
  • Supporting product promotion and tendering
  • Advising customers in the use of the product and, using appropriate expertise where necessary, solving customer product-related issues


  • Degree/HND in an electrical/electronic/software engineering discipline
  • Capability to read, understand and communicate through technical specifications and drawings
  • Experience working with substation and power system protection and/or control equipment
  • Experience of working within an ISO 9001 management system
  • Capability to communicate well to a good standard of written and verbal English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to relate well to colleagues and clients
  • Ability to manage a variety of competing priorities and meet deadlines, and to be flexible and to adapt to changing and challenging circumstances
  • Ability to formulate ideas and solutions and present them effectively

Experience of any of the following would be useful but not essential:

  • Experience of an HV/EHV substation environment
  • Knowledge and experience of the internals of substation and power system protection and/or control equipment
  • Experience of working with common SCADA communication protocols: IEC 60870 series, DNP3, IEC 61850
