Sales Coordinator

The Sales Coordinator will act as the initial point of customer contact for sales and will support the Sales team and the wider organisation to promote a high-quality customer experience.


  • Using the outputs of marketing campaigns and research to identify target customer organisations and key people within them as prospects for future sales
  • Making introductions to potential new customers
  • Identification and application of funding streams
  • Conducting marketing analysis
  • Liaising with Marketing Communications to deliver customer / product specific campaigns
  • Providing support to Account Managers
  • Providing support to UK & overseas agents and partners
  • Lead generation
  • Proactive communication with customers to drive leads and opportunities. Chasing outstanding quotes and expediting orders
  • Building positive relationships with customers, including obtaining customer feedback
  • Preparation of outgoing quotations and tender responses, liaising internally for specialist information and support as necessary
  • Where necessary, acting as bid manager for tenders from formal enquiry to order (expressions of interest
  • Support sales administration
  • Preparation of forecasts/reports
  • Acting as first point of contact for enquiries by email and telephone
  • Reception ‘meet and greet’


  • Five GCSE’s (including English & Maths) at Grade C / Level 4 or above
  • Engineering qualifications preferable, although demonstration of a strong technical understanding and/or previous technical role could be acceptable.
  • Self-motivated and business focused.
  • Proactive and highly organised

  • Able to communicate effectively by telephone, correspondence or in person in a professional and confident manner
  • Experience with Sage and ACT! Or other CRM tool would be an advantage 
  • Possessing a high level of commercial acumen and the ability to understand client’s processes and business objectives
  • IT literate with a sound knowledge of the MS Office packages, experience with Sage software would also be desirable
  • Previous experience with technical drawings would be an advantage

The following would be useful but not essential:

  • Experience in the power systems sector
  • Tendering and bid management experience
